چکیده

A&me-The axial dispersion problem formulated in part I[11 of this series is solved for cases 2-4 and 7 identified therein. The cases analyzed here consider appendages to the finite axially dispersed reactor which are either semi-infinite sections of finite dispersion or well-mixed sections of tinite capacity. The findings possess features akin to those found in Part II[q for case 1 but obviously displaying variations in detail.

Transients in Adiabatic Tubular Reactors. Axial Dispersion Models with Well-mixed Appended Sections

Using boundary conditions more general than those due to Danckwerts, the authors recently showed that significant variations may be encountered in the global stability characteristics of an axially dispersed adiabatic tubular reactor. The numerical results presented in this communication demonstrate that for a fixed initial state of the reactor, steady states very different from those predicted...

Analysis of Axially Dispersed Systems with General Boundary Conditions-i Formulation

Transient analysis in the past of finite axially dispersed systems with or without a rate process has been subject to the use of the Danckwerts boundary conditions. We present here a formulation which suggests a general set of boundary conditions from which the Danckwerts conditions arise. as a special case.. The resulting boundary value problems neatly fit the mold of self-adjoiat operator the...

Two-Dimensional Elasticity Solution for Arbitrarily Supported Axially Functionally Graded Beams

First time, an analytical two-dimensional (2D) elasticity solution for arbitrarily supported axially functionally graded (FG) beam is developed. Linear gradation of the material property along the axis of the beam is considered. Using the strain displacement and constitutive relations, governing partial differential equations (PDEs) is obtained by employing Ressiner mixed var...

A MIXED PARABOLIC WITH A NON-LOCAL AND GLOBAL LINEAR CONDITIONS

Krein [1] mentioned that for each PD equation we have two extreme operators, one is the minimal in which solution and its derivatives on the boundary are zero, the other one is the maximal operator in which there is no prescribed boundary conditions. They claim it is not possible to have a related boundary value problem for an arbitrarily chosen operator in between. They have only considered lo...

Asymptotic Approximations of the Solution for a Traveling String under Boundary Damping

Transversal vibrations of an axially moving string under boundary damping are investigated. Mathematically, it represents a homogenous linear partial differential equation subject to nonhomogeneous boundary conditions. The string is moving with a relatively (low) constant speed, which is considered to be positive.  The string is kept fixed at the first end, while the other end is tied with the ...
